is now permanently available at the Gutenberg Press
and will no longer be updated. It is 3309 pages long
and so takes some time to load and you may have to register. There are over
27,190 terms defined and over 2360 illustrations.

12 September 2021 - The book Carps and Minnows of Iran (Families
Cyprinidae and Leuciscidae) is now available on this site in
two volumes: Volume I: General Introduction and Carps (Family Cyprinidae)
1263 pages and Volume II: Minnows (Family Leuciscidae) and Bibliography 909
pages.
A more permanent home will eventually be found as their size precludes
publishing in book form for cost reasons (both to produce the books and
their probable retail price).- 27 January 2019 - The Arctic marine fishes
book was awarded the 2019 Dartmouth Medal
for outstanding reference work of the year
by the
American Library Association.

- 10 July 2017 - so far 18 families of
Iranian freshwater fishes have been updated and published - see Contents of
Freshwater Fishes of Iran or the Curriculum Vitae (www.briancoad.com/main.asp?page=curriculumvitae.asp)
for details. Others are in preparation but require more work as they have
numerous species and much material that needs to be identified.
- I retired at the end of 2016 but continue
working on completion of the book Marine Fishes of Arctic Canada and
on Iranian fishes. Queries about the fish collections at the Canadian Museum
of Nature or general enquiries about fishes should be addressed to the staff
there (see www.nature.ca).
- 25 August 2015 - other sections of this

- 1 January 2015 - parts of the website on Freshwater Fishes of Iran
are being revised and published in the Iranian Journal of Ichthyology (q.v.).
Those parts of the website will no longer be updated and will be deleted.
This is occasioned by the tremendous productivity of Iranian scientists who
are actively researching their ichthyofauna.

maintenance). There are over 24,000 terms in 1497 pages with 560 pictures.
